Qhayiya Mudau (Magaqa) is a consultant in the WHO Rehabilitation Programme at headquarters where her work focusses on advancing research and strengthening networks for rehabilitation globally. In her role, she promotes the use of health policy and systems research as a tool for strengthening rehabilitation in health systems and coordinates the rehabilitation network of WHO Collaborating Centres which are located across various geographical regions. Previously, she trained and worked as a physiotherapist in South Africa where her work focussed on increasing access to rehabilitation services in resource limited settings. She was a Leading for Impact fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. She also has teaching experience of graduate students with a focus on improving function through rehabilitation. She holds an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine and a PhD both from the University of Oxford where she was a Rhodes Scholar.
