Helen Gill
Lived Experience Partner,
NHS Hereford and Worcestershire
Helen is a lived experience partner on this project and a dedicated carer for her daughter Laura. She also serves as CEO of The Monday Night Club, a charity that has been enriching the lives of adults with learning disabilities and autism in Worcestershire for over 13 years. The charity provides social opportunities, new experiences, sport and fitness sessions, and a healthy cooking club, promoting inclusion and well-being within the community.
Helen's career began as a producer at BBC Radio, but she transitioned to full-time care-giving when Laura’s needs surpassed what childcare providers could manage. Once Laura's needs stabilised, Helen pursued a new career in Marketing and Communications, while continuing to advocate for people with learning disabilities.
Since 2021, Helen has been an integral part of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Integrated Care Board’s ‘Sensory-Friendly Environments in GP Surgeries’ project, using her experience and insight to improve healthcare access for individuals with sensory needs.
