Caroline Robinson

Senior Occupational Therapist, Essex County Council
Caroline qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2001 from the University of East Anglia. She went on to work within a rotational scheme, experiencing a number of vastly different clinical areas before eventually stumbling across social care. Caroline has worked in social care since 2006, and as a Senior therapist since 2009. Alongside this statutory employment she has also intermittently worked for other county councils, providing private occupational therapy assessments and interventions. More recently she also worked part-time as a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of Essex. Caroline’s role within Adult Social Care in Essex has varied across her career, her most recent post sees her working directly with care providers under the prevention duty of the Care Act (2014) to improve and maintain standards of care. Utilising core occupational therapy skills, knowledge, and her vast experience to positively influence practice change thus supporting people to receive good quality care. This area of occupational therapy practice has emerged since 2018 and Caroline has been fortunate to shape the role into what it is today.
