Anna Garner
Lived Experience Partner,
NHS Hereford and Worcestershire
My name’s Anna and I have completed my interview for the ‘Lived Experience Partner’ role. I have also been learning to drive, and am waiting to take my theory test.
Having done a Diploma and Supported Internship at college, I am now looking to increase my experience in the workplace. I am on the Autistic Spectrum, so know well the difficulties Autistic people cope with. Most of my prior work experience has been at Keysafe in Worcester and ExtraCare Retirement Village in Harbourne, Birmingham.
In my spare time I am a keen Irish dancer, and I attend classes twice a week in solo and group dancing. I have enjoyed in the arts since childhood, including singing, dancing and acting; it is my special interest, as I find self expression through it. Often I find music in particular can emphasise emotions where words cannot. In addition, I have been attending an Autism support group in Redditch who organise trips for Autistic children/young adults with the aim of increasing our independence when out and about.
In conclusion, I like to think I am an enthusiastic person who is keen to get involved and move forward.
