Foundations

Foundations is the national body for Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) and leads on the administration of the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) across England. We work closely with local authorities, central government, and other stakeholders to improve the quality of life for older people and those with disabilities by enabling them to live independently in their own homes. Our services include providing guidance, training, and resources to professionals involved in home adaptations, ensuring that funding is used effectively to meet the needs of individuals. We also support policy development, helping to shape the future of housing adaptations and the DFG. At the heart of our work is a commitment to making homes safer, warmer, and more accessible, ultimately empowering people to maintain their dignity and independence for as long as possible.
