Horne Engineering Ltd. is proud to showcase our safe shower solutions at the 2024 Occupational Therapy Show. Designed for safety-critical environments such as mental health facilities, secure prisons, and supported housing, our robust, pre-plumbed shower units are uniquely specialised to withstand challenging behavioors and minimise harm.

Built with tough aluminium casings, Horne showers protect internal components and users from potential harm. The robust brass and die-cast zinc shower heads and controls are designed to mitigate self-harm risks, specifically via ligature.

Our thermostatic control valve, a Horne innovation since the 1920s, ensures safe, consistent water temperatures, enhancing user satisfaction and deterring vandalism. These features led to Horne showers being selected by the Ministry of Justice for the Decency Showers Programme upgrades to the HMP prison estate, improving dignity and welfare for prisoners across multiple UK sites.

Horne’s showers offer quick installation, easy maintenance, and low-cost spare parts, making them an indispensable asset for secure and challenging-behaviour facilities aiming to enhance safety and wellbeing while optimising resources.
