The Mini is the newest WashPod model and the latest to be added to the Compact and Standard models that are already on the Dignity Access stand (F51).

The Mini is the newest WashPod model and the latest to be added to the Compact and Standard models that are already on the Dignity Access stand (F51). The Mini WashPod was only launched in February this year is one of the smallest in the range of eight plug ‘n play, temporary disabled wetrooms. It is designed for the most limited spaces where a toilet and shower are both required. It is only 1.75m long by 1.5m wide (plus a ramp) and has bi-fold doors to allow carer access from the outside if needed. Although small, it can still accommodate a wash-dry toilet but will fit snugly into the corner of rooms or even in utility rooms. It only takes half a day to install and is priced as a great option for Disabled Facilities Grant funding.

The WashPod range of disabled wetrooms offer modular versatility to provide rapid, dignified bathing solutions when accessibility becomes an urgent need. The units can be hired or bought giving a flexibility that makes them perfect for short to interim periods where rehabilitation is needed or to keep clients at home, perhaps during a lengthy litigation process or for end-of-life care.

The Standard-sized model is one of an increasing range of WashPods - available in both internal and external form. Many customers such as local authorities, case managers and solicitors, have found the Standard to be a good solution as it is fully compliant, has sufficient room for a carer and wheelchair, takes a hoist and still fits into a medium room or double garage. For local authorities, they are attractive as they can be re-used for multiple service users by taking advantage of our unique DFG Turnaround Service.

The Compact WashPod is smaller and can fit easily in the corner of many rooms while still having wheelchair accessibility, giving it a versatility that makes it a common choice.

WashPods combine modularity with expertise in accessible design to produce an aesthetically pleasing but robust, high-quality versatile wetroom that can be carried in sections through the house to inaccessible locations. They can be erected quickly in just a day or two, either internally or externally. They are plug ‘n play, requiring no extensive structural or plumbing adaptations and can be removed as easily leaving the property in its original condition. No wonder OTs love the WashPod and even landlords are happy.

For Local Authorities, the Dignity Access DFG Turnaround Service requires a single capital outlay for the pod, followed by a fixed management fee that oversees the entire logistical process, including refurbishment and storage, so that the pods can be used multiple times saving valuable DFG funds. Our lead times are just 2 – 6 weeks which avoids the lengthy planning and construction process which can make a real difference especially for hospital discharge and end-of-life care.

 ABOUT US

WashPod is designed, manufactured and installed by Dignity Access Ltd, a small private business that is gaining a strong reputation for excellent client satisfaction and numerous unsolicited testimonials. Indeed, a recent customer survey gave us 5 stars for our overall standard of service. WashPod was borne out of Cowan Architects, a chartered architects’ practice specialising in accommodation designs for the disabled and Accommodation Expert Witnesses.
