The talk will present a case study about a teenager with an acquired brain injury (ABI) who has been out of school for 2 years and has felt unable to accept input from other professionals, leaving him occupationally deprived. It will discuss how the unique perspective of Occupational Therapy has allowed for a wider understanding of this child’s needs and has resulted in increases in routine, motivation, confidence and skills. The presentation will consider mental health, sensory processing, education and neurology as a way to make sense of this child’s experience and plan intervention.
