Assistive technologies for people with upper limb impairment

This session informs therapists about how assistive technologies can help people to retain, regain and replicate arm function. 

Subjects covered will include an overview of the causes of reduced arm mobility, the applicability and benefits of assistive arm supports, robotic arms, dining companions, hands free wheelchair driving controls and gripping gloves for hands.  

Case studies will illustrate the benefits gained from this technology by users.  The assessment and provision processes will be discussed, including funding challenges.
