From Surviving to Thriving: How Innovative Digital Occupational Therapy Apps Are Transforming the Early Intervention Landscape for Children

27 Nov 2024
Showcase Theatre

Stephanie will share her personal journey with her son, Alexei, whose near-fatal experience at 18 months old underscored the critical importance of early intervention in occupational therapy. She will delve into her innovative and entrepreneurial journey, including her experience as a senior occupational therapist and the only female founder to complete Phase 2 of the six-month Plus 8 business accelerator program at Spacecubed in Perth, Australia. Stephanie will discuss the hurdles she faced, such as educating others about the value of occupational therapy and the essential role it plays in children's lives. She will also highlight the growing wait times for OT services and how OT-Me is bridging the gap by providing timely support through innovative digital apps. Additionally, Stephanie will touch on her experience securing venture capital funding to further her mission and inspire other OTs to embark on their own innovative journeys. By blending her experiences as a mother of five and a professional, she will illustrate how these tools empower families and unlock each child's potential. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the transformative impact of digital solutions in occupational therapy and the vital role they play in early intervention, fostering resilience and empowering children and their families to thrive not just survive.
